DAN WHYMAN
Dan is a foundation member of the Society of Australian Songwriters and has a vast catalogue of original music that is authentic, true blue & undeniably real
Dan started out as many did in the early 80s in cover bands on the Sydney pub circuit. Upon competing a songwriting diploma at UTS Sydney with Tom Price (co-writer of Billy Fields 'Bad Habits') he formed the seminal folk comedy musical duo The Blind Mullets. They had a cult following and played with many Sydney creatives such as Tug Dumbly at the Sando and The Tongue Circus at the Brendan Behan. He has performed on TV with appearances on Hey Hey it's Saturday and movie premieres such as Joe Dirt, travelling far and wide spreading his message of love and laughter wherever he goes. Dan's original witty Australian songs are a mixture of folk, blues and pop melodies written with an Aussie theme which audiences can sing along and laugh at themselves too. Some might say he's a 'Temu' John Williamson, an 'Anko' Paul Kelly or an 'Ali Express' Flight of the Conchords. When you roll it all up and sit back with your choice of beverage, Dan sings his songs with a voice that sounds like home. It's music that makes you feel something!
